Women's Wellness Management Q & A

What is wellness?

As women move from puberty through menopause and beyond, maintaining overall well-being is very important. Dr. Eden wants her patients to be physically and mentally healthy -- and spiritually and socially connected -- because overall wellness can play a significant role as women navigate the stages of their lives.

How is overall wellness achieved?

Many factors affect a woman’s overall health and well-being, and Dr. Eden has found great success in concentrating on:

  • Exercise
  • Nutrition
  • Mental health
  • Sexual health

Exercise is extremely beneficial to women of all ages and helps ward off, or cure, many conditions. Problems with weight, for example, can lead to a host of issues in a woman’s health, and exercise is often the simplest solution. The role that nutrition plays in a woman’s wellness should also not be underestimated.

When it comes to mental health, Dr. Eden will sit down with each patient to uncover areas where a woman may feel anxiety or depression and works with her patients to address those areas. Like mental health, sexual health is often ignored even as conditions are treated. Dr. Eden believes that sexual health is an important quality-of-life issue and will work with patients every step of the way to ensure that they are happy in all areas of their lives, including sexual relations.

Are alternative therapies used?

Dr. Eden is a classically trained gynecologist and, as such, is well versed in the effective and up-to-date treatments and science in women’s health. However, if traditional treatments are not effective, Dr. Eden is happy to research alternative treatments with patients. Call or schedule an appointment online with Dr. Eden at her practice, Elizabeth A. Eden, MD. The practice is currently welcoming new patients and accepts most major forms of insurance.
